If you want success with Amazon, you must have site more than 30 sites, with specific niche each other. Than install AOM on every site. My friend got $1k/month with over 30 site of AOM.
Not really.. Once the sites/stores are made, there is little if any maintenance. It's just money in the bank after the initial work.
it still seems like a lot of work which maybe could be better utilised in an area where there is a direct income from one's labours I wonder whether they combine other income earners with the sites because that isn't mentioned
Actually, I'm quite pleased with my Amazon affiliation. I regularly see many sales per day, which yield a nice sum per every month.
guys, i will monitor this for some more time..but i am getting ANGRY.... My reconditioned tools store is doing GOOD...i got PR of 3 Now and people buy stuff once in a while ! Just TODAY someone purchased a $4000 (!) unit. The problem is i dont get ANY earnings for about 2 months now...NADA !!!! My AoM sends me emails that people put stuff in the shopping-carts..but my amazon earnings are ZERO. How likely is it that dozens and dozens of people put stuff in their carts, but then dont check out ?
I'm very interested in this thread because I justed signed up for Amazon and spent a few hours working on the API tools the other night. HOW are you guys using Amazon? Is anyone using the API to post content-specific products on their sites? I think I have this worked out: A) Pass key words that are stored with the blog or site to the amazon API using Web Services B) Receive the suggested books, dvds, etc from Amazon via Web Services C) Display the suggested stuff to the user.. Since what the user is reading (blog, store, product info) should have some relationship to the products I'm showing, I'd like to think that my 4% from Amazon could be reasonable (on about 10 sites). Again, I'm really new. Will this work? Any suggestions? Thx
FOLLOW-UP post to my previous: In case anyone is interested, I have the Amazon API working to dynamically generate product suggestions from key words. If you are small time site, you're thinking "so what?" However, if you host a blog (as we do) or have a database of many many products, this is quite interesting as you can send the keywords from the blog or product database automatically to Amazon as the page loads and return product suggestions that are RELEVANT to what the user is seeing. If you'd like to see it in action, PM me and I will give you details.
I have to say that I didn't see any real money with amazon either. I use to be very active on it, but didn't get anywhere. www.ponads.com
ATM I have a series of sites doing about $30-$50/day. Pretty impressive. I credit several factors. The script, the themes of the sites, the way I have SEO'd them, and the domain names/key word concentration.
some people go further than hearing and actually say fortunately I like the pictures the amazon links generate
My take on this is , if an affiliate based or PPC based system is not working for you, you need to first look at whether "you are shit", vs., whether the program is "shit". Ask yourself, why am "I" not performing well first. Yes, there are some programs out there that down right suck, and some that do cheat. Overall though, I would say more often then not, it is the end user that is not doing all they need to promote their site that is the problem. If something you are doing is not working, change what you are doing. Calling something shit is the first step in identifying that something is shit. Fixing the "shit" is the next step.
I seem to have a turnaround for the last couple of months, not much, but enough to met the check payout threshold. Been with Amazon for as long as I can remember too.
You know, I never made much of anything with Amazon for YEARS... I have been with them since the beginning. My account dates to 97'. Trouble was, I just slapped a few amazonian codes onto a couple web sites and then just forgot about it. That was the problem. Once I began to work at it, I found a system by which you actually generate sales and revenue. Now don't get me wrong, other programs out there have a higher/better payout, but a consistent 4% (which is what Amazon appears to be) is not that bad, especially once you get things rolling.
Amazon has recently come out with paid advertisement like google adsense add's,why don't you give it a try.
I think content-sensitive is the only way to go with Amazon and have any shot at revenue. Check out a couple different blogs at http://www.bigblogmonkey.com and notice how each one recommends amazon products on the right that are specific to the topic in the blog.
