I get very less traffic from yahoo search.

it simply means you are doing better in other engines that you are in yahoo. but google is indeed more popular than yahoo in terms of users

a good way of checking is the ranks, are you there in yahoo for your terms?

its also about conversions dont forget, not just traffic.

 

It's pretty obvious that google gets the majority of traffic but I would not be surprised if bing starts to take off in the next few years. Will it overcome google? Probably not....but take a big chunk of search traffic, I would say 60/40

I have the same experience. Also I agree that yahoo is way too passive. I got optimization helps from customer serivce of microsoft and google. For yahoo? They seems don't care. So my compaign on yahoo just hanging there. I even forgot my password on yahoo

 

Even I get more traffic from google than Yahoo. But I think Google is a giant so at the end of the day more traffic counts.

yahoo like google has many product, like yahoo answer that make a big amount of traffic if you want to use it.

 

I know this is an old post, but in case anybody comes by wanting an answer to this question, the reason is that Google is much bigger then yahoo, you can rank number one in yahoo, and rank number 7 in Google for the same keyword, and you will get more traffic form Google. Google controls 90% of the search traffic.

 

People often do Google SEO but they forget about Yahoo SEO

 

i think it considers website content more than backlinks in comparison to google, so make your content more effective to get high rank in yahoo search.. and if u get high rank than u will be get more trafiic.

 

I think mostly yahoo is concern more on domain names than keyword maybe that why your site rank low in yahoo search I think they are more on a branding side than keyword.

Compare to Google , you ll always get low traffic and few visitors from yahoo and rest of the search engines, cause 80 % or more peoples around the world addict of using Google search engine very few ones who have lack of internet and searching knowledge are search from other search engines like yahoo, lycose, dogpile, entire web etc...
so this problem is common for all web owners to get low traffic from yahoo search engine.

 

for every yahoo user there are 5 Google users so getting less visitors from yahoo is understandable.
