I get very very less traffic compared to google from yahoo search. Does people search less using yahoo or my site only getting less from yahoo? I am confused and bit worried.

Google and Yahoo both differ in their ranking formula, also Google is much bigger then Yahoo so you would probably be better sticking with Google Have you tried the new Google Traffic Pump System? it works quite well you check it out here free-web-traffic.net

Depends on the position you rank in those search engines your traffic differs. Thats it.

For search engine market share, Google has around 70% while Yahoo has less than 20%, so the traffic from Yahoo is less than Google in most of time.

Don't worry about not getting much Yahoo traffic - as others have already mentioned, it has less traffic to give and quite honestly, I wouldn't recommend giving it any attention for optimization until we know the extent that will be integrated with Bing. It may very well end up serving Bing results which would mean optimizing for Yahoo's current algorithm would be pointless.

    Hope that helps,

    Gary

ya, i can empathize with the concern - even if small, yahoo still has a significant share of search traffic - but unfortunately there seems to be v less intelligence on how yahoo page rankings work

My site gets almost all of its traffic from Google, and Yahoo seems to account for less than 5 of traffic. Am I doing something wrong, or is it that people just do not really use Yahoo much?

In general my sites rank higher on Yahoo compared to Google and yet I too hardly get any traffic from yahoo searches. I think people just prefer to use Google these days.
