dude check it out if the domain is still good to rank for, bcoz google some time sandbox some domains, and those domains remains available after that.
You should check before you buy the domain , Make sure the domain not in the sandbox or get banned by search engine, check the previous history of the domain which what all about , it may face legal issues in the previous. Be a smart buyer, check everything before you buy while everyone know that one word domain with .com can sell high price in the market.
Why would you even waste your time asking? The OP would have to be crazy to give out that information if he hasn't/can't register it yet. WebDev
There are still many one-word COM domains out there, most of them are crap and most of them have crappy matches with other extensions. Whenever you find a domain that seems to good to be available still, check out the other extension and if those are parked paged pages, probably is junk that someone is trying to monetize registering all but missing one already owned before the move.
if it's a brand name, you might run into legality of the name and worst part of it, the company who owned the trademark and copyright might want to take over the name. i have seen in some cases, the cybersquatters (whom registered names and hope to sell for profits) have been sued and the companies that owned the TM and CR will take over it. you have to be careful.
hmm I wonder what is the name of the domain you wanted for ? it is good to have one word domain because it is easy to remember for me but it is hard to get
Yes it costs very little to register a domain, BUT if you are using it to infringe a registered trademark, you are unlikely to have the trademark owner let you.We used to be casual about this, but after a few incidents have got tougher.Yes we have a few domains registered with our trademarks (exact match domains) but because of the myriad combinations (trademark plus "the"), hypens and numbers added to trademark words, extensions of net. info and the rest, we cannot possibly register them all.BUT if and when anyone else does, we find out very quickly and we close them down.Simple! With tools like "google alerts" and the like, anyone using our trademarks, either in a new domain or via SEO, will get found out very quickly and BEFORE they cause us damage (usually). The world is going online at a rate of speed and if not already, very soon, every business will be web savvy. My advice, by all means get good domain names, but watch out for treading on trademark owners and the like as the costs could be large if you infringe. All the bestSnakeman
JohnCa, me too! What is this magnificent search / domain name?BTW I thought I'd share a bit of info on how fast the world is going online.I was talking to an Australian business on Friday who used to have offices in every capital city, and as recently as three years back.Recently all were closed and all business is done from the head office only. Why?It's because almost all their business is done online!Tells you something doesn't it!PS - If you think the internet is competitive now, wait to see what happens in five years time!Snakeman
