I am wondering if anyone knows about this scenario...

I found a great domain name for a dir but its currently registered to someone. It appears that the domain may be banned by google as there are no indexed pages and no backlinks in yahoo. If I were to acquire this domain could I get it unbanned if in fact it is banned?

I've purchased a banned domain before, filed a reinclusion request in Google Webmaster Tools, and i was able to get the site reindexed in under 1 month.

Just file a reinclusion request and make sure you tell them it's a recent purchase and you were unaware of the penalties previously.

One of my firends site was banned and then he got it un-banned.

Infact his site was given a PR6 and then they put the site at PR5.

google gave his site a trusted site status.

And personally I have one site, I bought on DP and the guy sold me saying it is a new site.

For over a year now, goodle did not index even one page.

That is a $35 or $40.00 I paid and could not use even for back links.

So, I think it depends on what had happend or it depends on the reason for the ban.

How do we know whether a site is banned by google or not?

If the site is banned by google how to un-ban it?

Did you file a re-inclusion request? Make it sure your site looks something unique, something thats good and doesn't deserves to be kept banned and then file a google request.

i would stay away from a banned domain .. i think it could be part of the "history of a domain" search engines valorate .. so if having other chances .. why take the risk?
