I Find Search Engine Traffic Better Ad CTR than Digg Traffic

Traffic from search engines, specially Google, yields to higher CTR (Click Through Ratio) when compared to traffic from Digg. This difference is as much as 3 times, which means that the visitors are 3 times more likely to click on your ads if they come from Google when compared to the same amount of visitor traffic from Digg!

I wouldn’t have really believed that if it was not backed up by some real data analysis that takes into consideration a significant amount of data resulting in a decisive output. I am referring to this post from Chitika Blog Bash that has come up with this finding based on an analysis done on a billion+ ads served over a period of 31 days.

Now that’s what I really like about having a lot of data in your hands that you can use in variety of ways, similar to what folks at Chitika have done. Don’t we now know which traffic should we emphasize more on for better CTR? :)

There is no need of any analysis. Its plain stupid comman sense. Search engine traffic always converts better for adsense or affiliate or any other type of advertising.

If you understand the basic difference of targetted traffic, you would understand whats converts better.

That's a known fact from the early days of Stompernet Go Natural 1.0 series.

They made this test and distribute free.

You can add that traffic from 2.0 websites also convert more.

If you haven't seen this series than search it on Google it's a must .

SE Traffic is like vehicles travelling to the main expressway to the City Centre with a guided map. That means they know where they are going and absolutely sure that is the right way.

    while

Digg traffic is like vehicles heading the main expressway going to the City Centre without a map. Most are just curious to find out whether it is the right way. Some might even get lost. Some got no clue how they get there in the first place. Others may just exit to the nearest street and get lost further.

Diggs bounce rate is not exactly dog's bollocks. People are there for a quick minute of entertainment and when they are done with your page they go back to Digg for more. SE send you targeted traffic = high CTR anyway. Not exactly rocket science. Especially when you get 1000 daily uniques and 70 clicks every day, then hit the front page of Digg, receive 20.000 uniques and still 70 clicks you will kinda figure this out.

Traffic from social bookmarking sites are just like automated traffic.

Search engine sends the most targeted traffic.

I actually find traffic from article links to be the best converting for me. My SE traffic is usually around 10% CTR, but article traffic is usually around 35%.

Well, we all know that SE traffic converts better than bookmark sites like Digg, but what is important here is: HOW MUCH. I've never had the patience to see the difference so it is helpful to know that it converts roughly times better than diggs. It is research and details that improves sites..congrats on doing just that.

i figure that you are new into this but have to say you figured out this very quick. SE traffic is targeted traffic and always the best converter. Digg or SB traffic on the other hand are the worse when it comes to conversion.
