Suggestion I find it ironic that this forum is said to be an english speaking forum.

26.7% of our traffic is from india, 20% is from the united states. Is there a way we can attract more english speaking people to the forums? I hate reading posts and having to decipher what is said. Example - "You are checking google how your site is lacking seo." That does not make any sense to me. I see more and more of these posts daily!

Nothing much you can do about that, DP is open to anyone from anywhere. I'm from Southeast Asia and I'm not that good at English but I at least try and make my English easy to comprehend. Just ignore them and move on.

Besides you can't say it's not an English speaking forum, whilst the Indian users and other Countries whose first language is not English still speak English on the forum.

You're probably right, I'm just looking at alexa. While we're at it, I was scammed $600 here on the forums!!! :( Sure, we didn't complete the deal in PM's here, but really who does that? That is SLOW and annoying. w00 I get to give someone negative iTrader for $600.

I didn't say this WASN'T an english speaking forum, I just said I'm tired of having to decipher peoples bad english.

    Your english is pretty good.

    What might that be? :)

Is that how alexa gets its data? I was baffled. Good guess on my source.

Less traffic = less people to talk to/hire etc. Simple as that.

    Esperanto?

While I acknowledge that the english of some members is less than perfect I doubt many of the english-as-a-first-language members would last long participating in a non-english forum. I have huge respect for people who can participate in a written forum (as opposed to oral) in a second or third language.

Strange it sounds. No sure why you'd had to do a $600 worth business when that bloke's English was undecipherable after all. That being said, there are many rogues here who scam people off work or money day in and out. We ought to move on learning from the experience !

There are lots of people, including me, for whom English isn't the first language or even second.
Why don't you just ignore that you find "non-english"? That'll save your valuable time as well as ours.

Text speak annoys me. dis instead of this. Stop being lazy, its not cool. You have 10 fingers (well most do) and a keyboard laid out to help those 10 fingers to type accurately. And the people who try and sell something by saying hurry up. I make decisions on my own timeframe thanks!

What really bothers me is not how or what people are saying but the contextual point they are trying to make
which is not any. In most cases post doesn’t make any sense because posters are pursuing the post count and
that is much more worst than gibberish they are using to express them selves.

Mods (you know who you are) should delete them instead of contributing to discussion posts and clean the mess
left by spammers, (as Forum Rules require) and not posts of members who are offering some substance.

    :)

I don't think DP will ever delete posts (maybe). If we say punishing (by means of warnings or infractions) members who post just because they want their post counts up then I think that we should also consider punishing members who post one liners (specially if it's already off topic) even if they are good in English? Well there's hardly anything we can do about controlling the quality of English posts in this forum, how about a sticky about proper English sentence construction? Just an idea.
