So I bought my own domain...installed the wordpress platform.....installed my favorite theme (digg 3 column) but i do not see the blog stats counter under the widgets? Its not there...on my wordpress.com blogs it is always there! What gives? I want the little counter that appears in the sidebar.

Sorry, I appreciate that wasn't very helpful :)

There's some info here but it doesn't really tell you what wordpress.com use ...

You can use the Feedburner widget that shows subscribers (after you burn your feed), there are also all kinds of widgets and plug ins available for your sidebar. Just a quick "Google " of "Stats Widgets, Wordpress" should get you a few.

What you lose in familiarity on wordpress.com, you gain 100 fold in customization options with self hosted wordpress. Once you get into it, you will forget all about that little counter widget.
