make a website with the USER in mind not the google BOTS

anything beyond basic SEO is waste of time, concentrate on making a USEFUL site to the users and the will come, i had steady month on month increases by providing good features and good user support and not being afraid to spend a lot on good servers, never have spend anything on advertising, all the users come in by word of mouth which is the best way to advertise, once you have a GOOD site people will reefer their friends

 

I am curious about your traffic statistics. Where does most of your traffic come from and how many pages do they generally look at. Also, could you let us know what type of website it is: forum, myspace, informational, ect.

2004-2005 i believe been growing slowly but steadily since, i remember this site when it was only small alot of good members are gone now it seems

usa, brazil, vietnam, egypt from analytics pretty much from everywhere it seems

ive several sites, forum-like and few web 2.0 kinda sites (i hate the word as i was doing it before it was even coined )

 

If you answered this I must of missed it or something. But what is your site genre?

Since the initial post everyone has been asking "what is the genre of the site", "how do you generate traffic" etc. I have a feeling we're not going to find out. I'm not disputing the stats or $$...but so far, I haven't learned a damn thing from this thread. If you're not going to at least give some advise on how you created this success, I don't see the point in spouting off about how much you're making. That's great for you and all..but it would be great if we could all learn a little something here. I don't want to know your web address...but since you're obviously successful, do you have any tips for us regular pathetic earners?

i already answered that

once you go above 10million impressions words liek "genre", "niche" are funny

i contacted adsense before, i don't think they offer premium accounts anymore or have raised the bar even higher, they completely avoid answering questions about premium accounts, i also have a separate business adsense account (yes they are allowed as business are separate entity) with sizable income from other of my large sites

adsense is only one slice of a much much bigger pie and i dont show adsense on all the pages on all my sites, i learned that showing too many ads is counter productive

me posting the site will probably get me banned from adsense for TOS violation, no thanks

as i said several times and replied to few PMs

its very simple, there is no magical complicated formula, make sites that are useful to PEOPLE, go to you own site and ask yourself "Is my site useful" and "How can i make it more useful" spending most of your day playing with adsense colors / placements or spending all your time on SEO is a waste, make a good site for human beings to use not yet another MFA, also scout out what your competition is doing and do one better, and dont be afraid to ask you users for feedback this info could be worth its weight in gold

 

This is very positive! Keep up the good work and only share some tips and tricks you use, not a link to your site but some methods you use!
