I Finally Broke Into the 7% Commission Bracket! Here's How I Did It...

YES! February wasn't my highest-revenue month with Amazon Associates, but I finally broke into the 7% commission by having over 110 items ship in a month.

    Here's how I did it:

    1) Writing Highly-Detailed Original Content on Items I Own and Am Passionate About

    2) See Item #1

People spend way too much time trying to sneak their way to wealth by using Wordpress plugins and Astore scripts and spam and whatever else.

I'm here to tell you that you can make good money with Amazon Associates by doing something completely shocking - explaining to people why they would want to own a particular product.

The best part is, assuming the products you promote will be fresh on the market for at least a few months, you can do the work once and make money for an extended period of time!

I'm still making money on reviews I wrote over a year ago, simply because I took the time to make content that is 100% original and search-engine friendly.

I made just under $400 in February with AA, so I'm not getting rich (yet), but my online earnings are growing quickly and basically pay me to do my hobbies. Also, I wrote just three blogs posts during the month, and they took me less than 3 hours altogether. And again - my blogging revolves around my hobbies, which means it's not actual work!

Would everyone be interested in an in-depth explanation of how I write effective reviews?

Agree. Everyone is looking for these plugins and shop sites where they can set different products, but they don't realize there are probably 100 same out there.

I've been in the 7% range ever since December and I hope I make in March too! But I talk/review about electronics, which always give 4%. So glad we get paid for the rest that they buy!

Write about the product with your own style, and include something bad too, if necessary. Readers will trust you and maybe even buy then. Many of my visitors keep on using my affiliate links, even when buying non related stuff. You need to build a relationship with them (if you're doing like some of us). If you are using those plugins and automated stuff, then good luck.

Question for the OP: Where do you post your reviews? I mean is it your own blog or an article site?

Yep, I also have a review I wrote on a specific product that I own that does very well and I wrote the review almost a year ago.

I've also found a really unique way of writing product reviews that provides value and credibility to the reader without claiming to have used the product, works great!

I just got a amazon site..about 25 days ago.. and come to find out it was waste of money in a way.. I paid 3months for hosting which was about 15$ which is not bad for liquid web hosting.. but the bad part is the person who does the hosting also setups up niche sites with amazon associate o matic script.. so it looks plain and i dont have Regular Cpanel option.. So I am trying to see if want to Transfer over to hostgator and some how get a more Custom looking template for amazon store. I really dont know much about css/html/php or any of that i am still trying to learn how to do that.

Definitely switch over to HostGator. Sure, they come a $1 or more more expensive, but they rock!

What stuff is hot to promote and making people to buy and get more revenue? Is book selling well? Or any other stuff with high commission ? Are we have to promote lot products or just few but detail review?

Man, what to say. I did something similar, keep trying and trying. Nothing actually worked. As some said in above posts that there are 100 other. It's true. So, like the threader said, i changed my strategy. My clicks are increasing, good and i see i am pretty pretty close with my first sale to happen. Very good that you shared your experience.

congrats on doing well, I just started using AA and I tried the whole plugins and crap and Iframes and didn't like it, I found an engine called Associate o matic that basically creates a css overlay for the store that doesn't look too bad. Not as appealing as many other stores but obviously better than the default look that AA provides. Only problem is that the shopping cart refers you back to Amazon instead of keeping within the website. My site is bluraymovieworld(dot)com, which don't get me wrong it's basic however I'm really not that good at working around coding to adjust it to the way I'd like. For the people who don't really like the default layout that AA provides, maybe this could help them out. Thanks for pushing out the info on the reviews. Hope you keep improving on your store!

I've just got text links to products on the sidebars of a few pages, but seem to be doing fairly well now I have higher traffic ... might need to try out using the image links as well and see if they convert better. I have a feeling the text links aren't quite as good.

Definitely content is king when it comes to Amazon sites. All my reviews are over 1000 words and I always try to create a video review as well. It takes time, but it's well worth it if you want to make money with Amazon long term. I think people are getting tired of short, salesy looking reviews that were obviously written by an affiliate. It's more important to sound like you actually care about your visitors and what they need/want.
