I am not a professional but i want to develop a website. may i develop a site after some basic website courses. and what courses would i select to meet the tasks?
Hey I suppose it really depends on what you want to do and what you want from a website, because there's many different areas. For example are you: 1. Interested in Website Coding and Designing e.g just setting the website and changing the layout/look/presentaton/colours etc. of the page. 2. Or are you interested in programming and would like to create scripts which execute user needs. 3. Or do you want all this done for you and you just want to enter content and have everything else layout/scripts/ done for you without knowledge on how they work? For 1. I suggest learning HTML and CSS. HTML is what defines the website code, with CSS being used to alter how the page looks. As for courses relating to this, I would really suggest you to go to this website and you can learn it for free: http://www.w3schools.com/html/default.asp It's a step by step guide that you can easily get through within a day. You can also learn a lot about this on these forums. For 2. Here you would learn about different scripting languages, for e.g Javascript and PHP. Again you can learn these on the site above, however i'd suggest a University course of some sort or something else, as these can be more complicated and require tuition imo. For 3. Here you just use a CMS (content-management-system) for e.g Wordpress. It's like Myspace, how you can create your own page easily, except this lets you create your own website (blog). You can also add pre-made user themes just like myspace to your blog.
wd_2k6 has all good suggestions. You can also read some online tutorials - a quick google found this one: 2createawebsite.com
