I feel like I should be making more money with adsense....

Ok so in the last 30 days my numbers are

ESTIMATED EARNINGS: $634 PageViews: 639,000 Users: 85,046

Are they good numbers? Shouldn't I be making more off of adsense with almost 100k people a month? Or is this normal.

 

It highly depends on the niche you are in...
If you are saying you have 100K unique visitors a month, that sum is quite OK nowadays!

 

You would think...

With that much traffic, I would be selling ads....
but like the other poster, it is all about niche....
for example, if you have a generalized site that does not
really focus on anything, then I think you are lucky to make $600/mo
however, if you had a site that focused on just one product, then I
think your 100k visitors would make you far more....

 

Its a gaming website for Call Of Duty... I tried to apply for buysellads a long time ago and got denied. Do you think its because my site wasn't responsive at the time?

 

You could looks at some CPM ads such as on offer from Pulsepoint, Mode, Sovrn & ADX. If you had say three MPU style ads earning $1 CPM in the side bar with a 50%+ fill. Those ads would earn you closer to $1k a month. Plus you could add some other ads, such as Skins and different banners. Certain Niches can earn much higher CPM's, especially with decent quality (Cookied up traffic). This is relatively conservative estimate, currently the sites I work on get CPM of $3-4 for the ATF units and $1-2 for Below the fold (Filling at 50-70%). Backfill goes to Adsense.

 

I would definitely look into some sort of Ad Exchange to help improve the competition for your ad inventory. Also, are you trying out different ad placements? At Ezoic we have worked with hundreds of sites, and we have found that through continuously testing out new ad placements you can find new ad sizes and locations that will help overcome any ad blindness that users may inherit from seeing the same ad placements over and over.

I have created a wordpress plugin that I use on my sites on the work sites, so I can easily swap out ads and change them around and just needs a shortcode in the relevant ad spots. I plan to add a feature to it shortly where it interacts with DFP so it can create and add the code directly to the site without the need to copy and paste.

Your adsense earnings solely depends on the traffic and placement of ads in your site. However you present earning is not so bad but you can do even more. As other members has put some good suggestions. So, you may follow these steps.
