I don't want my site in the co-op

Discussion in 'Co-op Advertising Network' started by SERPalert, Jul 12, 2005.

It's possible someone is pointing ads at my site to cause negative effects in the search engines. What if I don't want any links from this network pointing at one of my sites.

Is there anything I can do?

No, you can't control who links to you

That's what you get for having your sites in your sig... learn from the pros ;)

Heck, if anyone wants to cause any "negative effects" on my sites let me know, I have a couple of them that could use some 50k weight pointed at them...

I don't want to get into that argument. What I'm saying is someone, who is not me or in control of my site is pointing links to it. And I don't want links pointing to this site.

I think you had your answer, there is nothing you can do (regardless of whether there is a penalty or not).

Why has this been moved to "Setup and Validation help"?

"If you need help with the setup of the ad network, or your site does not validate, this is the forum for assistance."

I'd rather not post the anchor text / url of the site in a public forum, can I pm it?

Are you sure? They're all over the yahoo cache of backlinks to that domain.

Unless they've recently just been removed.

I'll keep a eye on it.

Heh, yea, those do look like co-op links in the yahoo cache, but why complain about free links?

And who would give you weight for free. Maybe it was a typo? Is there another domain close to yours?

Whoever it was, I guess they took it out. (or never had it in, if there is a history kept for the co-op.)
