Directories such as dmoz, and Yahoo, and many many others go more towards PR, traffic you bring to your site, appearance - which is a VERY big deal for many people on the net. Submit your site to all major search engines, check out submitexpress.com and use their free submission tool, it's affective and easy to use. Also, check out fastlinedirectory.net, We have a wide variety of categories you can choose from and packages as well that you may buy. Check your resources on Google, do a search for Free Web Submission, or Free URL Submissions. Submit your site to dir.yahoo.com if you haven't done that just yet. Also take a look at softwaresubmit.net - $19.99 plan for 700,000 web submissions including all search engines and directories on the web. (VERY good plan) Let us know how it goes and be picky about your keywords on Google, you'll be surprised with what you might find Good luck!
yes these all info ok thanx for these but i want to know that any way that can i pay for submission in dmoz any 3rd party doin that work any one experince that n how u submit ur site to dmoz
Submitting your site to dmoz is the easy part, check out dmoz.org/add.html and start from there. They're very careful with who they approve so don't expect a 3-4 day submission approval.
Each time you submit to DMOZ you go to end of queue. With DMOZ you submit in the most pertinent category and forget it. DMOZ does not have accept paid submissions. Good luck.
I would not recommend that you use any automated or paid means to submit to multple directories or search engines. Simply get some links from well ranked sites that are content relevant. You'll show up in the big three. As for the rest hand submit. Follow Smyrl's advice on DMOZ, they do not seem to respond well to multiple submissions and be certain to read their guidelines pertaining to title structure and description etc.as they appear to be very important.
Anytime someone asks about DMOZ and how to get in, the above quote should be the answer. I am sorry to say their is no magic bullet to getting into DMOZ. Submit and forget. It's not worth worrying about.
I have been able to get some websites for my clients listed in DMOZ, and many of them I get no answer. I have had a site get included in less then two months and I have some sites that I am still waiting for an answer and it has been over two years. Take your time, write a good listing and submit and forget it, spend your time working on your site and getting links.
Yeah, Dmoz is pretty much impossible to get in. Don't waste your heart in it. There are better things to do.
letsjoy, if you're sure that your website is worth including into DMOZ, and you feel that you can't live without your site being listed there - you can try to become an editor
It can also help if you know an editor in the category you're submitting, many have been listed this way.
Many editors are around but, they would not tell you the status of your submission. My suggestion: Submit and forget.
You may ask in the DMOZ subforum here on digitalpoint http://forums.digitalpoint.com/forumdisplay.php?f=66 , but before you do that, make sure you have a high quality site - better than an average site in your category. And one more thing: there is no paid submission to DMOZ and some editors are easily offended if you talk about it.
Yep. They either let you in, or ignore you completely. I've even been added recently, and then removed a month later for no reason. Their editors do whatever they see fit, and generally don't care what anyone else thinks. Not a bash against them, just the way it is. I have discussed one site with them at great length, before they banned inquiries altogether. The short of it is, nobody cares if a category has been unmaintained for years or is even relevant, and it's pure luck if your category is well maintained.
Well, it is true that editors are not interested in the marketing or success of any site but are interested in listing every site that brings new and unique content to the directory.
