I dont think Google has gotten big for it's britches. Does it control the net ?

Google does not control the internet. The only thing they control is how sites show up in their searches. The only reason they have the power is because they have done a better job than the other search engines. That has caused everyone that searches for anything, to use them.

Remember their customers are not the website owners or advertisers. Google's real customers are the people typing in the search terms. As long as they do the best job at returning results that searchers are looking for, then they will continue to stay on top. As soon as someone else comes along that, does a better job then they will start losing market share. It was not all that long ago that Yahoo was top dog but then Google came along and did a better job so now they are the one to beat.

While there are exceptions, most of them who have been whacked by Google was trying to game the systems in some way. It is a bit like speeding. If you drive faster than you should, you take that chance on getting a ticket however if you were actually speeding you have no business whining about the ticket.

It cant be denied that google is top most web company.. But they cant control the NET..

 

I don't think anyone or any companies would control the Internet. Google, of course, does well on general searching arena. But we still have many other choices for other dedicated purpose like we would like to to use dedicated SE when shopping online.

Thank God for Google!

 

Google does not control the internet and will never be able to do. Google is a most preferred search engine over the globe without a doubt. Their innovative free online services and software make a better living for online citizen. But still not a god of life for peoples yet.

Even saying that, Google has done completely changed the face of online world and life styles. Most of us do "ever" used some of Google services in one way or another. Here a few names I am sure you have heard some of them at lease once.
