Hello friends, I really don't like weekends (Friday nights & Saturdays & Sundays) because my websites are not positioned as good as on weekdays, even I work harder on weekends in submitting to web directories and social bookmarking sites. For example, during weekdays, my sites are on the second page on Google, but they are on 4th page on weekends. I really don't know why these major search engines don't like my websites on weekends. As you know search engines constantly evolve. Some of them like google might adjust the algo for the weekends as people are more interested in fun rather than work on the weekends. I, personally, have never experienced such differences in ranking but overall I get less visitors on the weekends as my sites are business related.

If you post a comment/message or what so ever with a link of your website it doesnt get automatically indexed on the same time (day) by Google. It depends when Google decide to crawl the website with the comment/message. Social bookmarking sites like Digg are being crawled every few minutes. But spamming those websites wont help your rank much if you ask me.
From my experience google is making adjustments to their algorithm on weekends. Depending on your niche, traffic is usually lower on weekends as well.
well, as your website takes a break, why don't you take a break too?? since you said that ranking gets better during the weekdays, don't be all work and no play. that's boring.
hmm, I create more backlinks and refresh blogs on Thursdays and Fridays to prepare for the weekends...and so far this strategy works for me
