I don't know what market/niche to pick..HELP!!!

When I first started out online, the biggest problem I had was picking a market to promote to...I got obsessed about it...I had to pick a winner

But the strange thing is your easily make $100+ a day within any market.

Let me give you a niche

Weight loss is booming online but we want to find particular audiences..

    So....

brides wanting to lose weight for wedding
    women with menopausal fat
men trying to lose man boobs
    losing weight for prom/college
    lose thigh fat
    get rid of belly fat
    lose that double chin
get rid of love handles and muffin tops
    get rid of arm fat
    remove fat legs
    beer belly removal
    hypnotherapy weight loss

Find an ultra spefic problem/category and your success will be greater. For instance if you are targeting the weight loss market in a broad sense you will not be able to relate to them as you could with these relevant and targeted sub niches.

So pick your market (ANYTHING) and DRILL DOWN

Check out www.dmoz.org on how you can drill down

How do you make $100 a day with a niche? You should turn this into a challenge for yourself and teach us at the same time as you go on to make a niche site and seeing good income.:)

So you're saying, if I wanted to use bodybuilding as my topic for example, I should stick to a specific muscle area such as "six-pack abs" or "huge biceps"?

    Exactly:)

Because you are catering for an audience that knows what they want..bodybuilding is a bit vague.

THen just make a ultra relevant page based around ''huge biceps''/''manly arms'' etc

Your visitor will be ''this is exactly what I am looking for!"

but before you decide on that exact niche, like huge biceps, you need to also research what offers there are out there for that niche. if you can't monetize the niche then it is just a hobby.

Exactly. There have to be enough people out there searching for "I want big arms like Arnold" on Google search before you go out and make a niche site targeting the keyword "I want big arms like Arnold".
If there's only 4 people a day searching for that term, it's pointless. If there's 100+, maybe then you can give it a shot.

What about the MMORPG gaming niche? Is it profitable or not?

The portion regarding anyone can make $100 a day, it's true to some extand but the challenge remains in how to effectively analyze a market to see if it's profitable or not. I've tried several tools and raw data collected from several sources and none have been helpful. Care to share your method of research or deciding if a niche is profitable?

First see if there are a lot of ads on google pertaining to your chosen market.

BUT what I do is determine how big a problem a niche could have.

For instance can you imagine how emotionally mtovated a woman would be to lose weight for her wedding or how about a man who hates his man boobs.

Does someone in debt think about his financial position often...what about a person who has a sweating problem.

This niches contain people who are desperate for a solution...they are in a desert thirsty and you show up with a tank of water....

How good a salesman do you have to be ?

I really enjoy researching niches. Here's what I believe to be the most important factors when choosing a niche:

    1. Look for niches where people are actually BUYING products/services. Pure volumes of search terms or people interested is not enough. Jokes are searched for in huge volumes but it's an impossible niche to monetise.

    2. Look for a good affiliate infrastructure - good, big ticket residual programs and several CPA offers paying at least $10+ per lead (for example)

    3. Availability of low cost traffic

I recently wrote a book on finding high profit niches which you can get for free here (direct download page):

In my experience the key to finding niches is finding out exactly what kind of questions people are asking. I like to browse forums on a wide range of topics, and find out the most commonly asked questions. Doing this gives me a sense of what people are searching for and why.

The most difficult thing in internet marketing is getting started. It may take some time and a lot of thinking but once you are able to decide on a certain niche that might click then you just go with it smoothly.

From what I learned, it's said that your micro-niche keyword should have an SEO Traffic of greater than 80, SEO Competition of less than 30,000 competing websites, and a PBR(Phrase to Broad Match Ratio) of over 15%.
All of this gives you a better chance of ranking at or near the top of Google for your keyword.

What's the most commonly asked question you ask? I know! It's..."How can I make money?" It's what everybody on this board is asking otherwise none of us would be on here.:D
