Check out with their customer support for clarification on the issue, not an idea whether one can use different branch swift code.
    Good luck!

I got mine by searching using google. Dont make mistake of using another branch swift code because if you do, u won't receive your earnings to your bank account

The SWIFT is unique for the bank, not the branch. It's the IBAN that's unique to the person's bank account.

    Hi,

I agree with arkells, please do check out http://www.theswiftcodes.com/india-indian-bank/. Alternatively, you can also google it. However, it is important that you can just call the branch and ask about it, this is the most reliable way to know the swift code.

It is good to know that:
According to the site I've stated above, "These codes are used when transferring money between banks, particularly for international wire transfers. Banks also used the codes for exchanging other messages between them.
The SWIFT code consists of 8 or 11 characters. When 8-digits code is given, it refers to the primary office.
    • First 4 characters - bank code (only letters)
    • Next 2 characters - ISO 3166-1 alpha-2 country code (only letters)
    • Next 2 characters - location code (letters and digits) (passive participant will have "1" in the second character)
    • Last 3 characters - branch code, optional ('XXX' for primary office) (letters and digits)"
I think this is important for bank transfers. I can recall that when I added a bank swift code for paypal, I just ignored the branch code. I didn't have any problem with it and my money still goes through. But still I suggest that you call your bank branch. HTH :)

    Hi Everybody,
I don't know from where are you from, but fact is, that in 6 month time, the European-Union-Countries will change their actual bank-account numbers.
From that time on, everybody will have bank-account-numers like this one (for national AND international money transfers).
    IBAN: DE68 2105 0170 0012 3456 78 BIC: UBSWCHZH80A
    Actually the numbers are much shorter: e.g. Account-Number 015894343647 Bank-Number: 20385

Yes! You can do it. You can put the Chennai branch swift and put your own account number. The money will automatically deposited by the bank.
