A good chunk of my returning visitors to www.fadplay.com come from google with the search phrase "fadplay". Why won't they just type in a .com at the end and come to the site directly instead of searching google and then clicking through to the site? Am I missing something here?
People in the corporate world often do that to avoid having tons of non-work related URLs in their browser.
Ya know, I always wondered the same but I see it all the time. Not only that, but I see people that think they have to go to google or yahoo to type in a www.domain.com. So at least they know your name without the .com
Sometimes, just to be sure, I'll search the name in google or yahoo first. Some domains use more than just the obvious name for their site. Kaiser Permanente for example is KP.org. Webster's Dictionary is M-W.com. Or, it's .org or .net instead of .com. So, rather than waste extra typing, I'd rather just type it into yahoo search.
