With the amount of information that has been made available on this thread and to go on with your mis-information makes me want to puke. And then you have the tenasity of bringing up the supposive "magical dmoz link" ... let alone suggestions of buying links which is strictly prohibited by Google!

You know what? ... don't give me your PR gospel crap, whish is exactly what it is ... show me your revs and 10K uniques per day and maybe i'll give you a bit of respect. You want all my respect? Read this thread and think about it, test it and come back and tell us that perhaps you were misinformed.

You keep bringing up the same old shit that is continuously be regergitated by everyone and their dog from the day the phrase PR was introduced. And BTW PR7 2 month old site ... no bought links! What do they have at the end? A PR7 site with, not making a dime, and a little traffic.


I'll take a PR0 with 15k unique a day any day over a PR8 with 100 unique a day.

 

Sayles: You should read one of my earlier posts in here where I said: "I don't care about PR, they do!" That's how the discussion started and ended here. I didn't mention traffic and content simply because we are talking about PR right now. Anyway, read my first post in this thread .... we'll talk once you've done that .... and puked!

P.S: I don't promote buying links solely to get PR. Why do you think I'm still only a PR5??

Google also doesn't say "Don't buy any links" which would mean not buying any advertising. Google doesn't promote buying links solely for increasing PR. So, if I had a commercial website selling cars (Say) and a lot of money to spend on advertising, it would be perfectly ok for me to spend on advertising with a local car yard site or other Car info sites or even other lifestyle sites to target that market. But, if I were buying links just for increasing my PR then that would be wrong and that's what Google has a problem with. If this wasn't true, then everyone who buys a paid listing in any directory (including the likes of Yahoo Directory) would have been banned by now!!

Get links from 100s of PR0 sites at no cost and you'll fair much better in the long run! Yahoo directory doesn't sell listing for PR rank, they sell listing for inclusion in their dirctory, a by product MAY be PR. Many people sell links strictly for PR gains.

 

Does this mean you are now agreeing with me? That's exactly what I was saying in my post. Google isn't against advertising, it's against buying links solely for gaining PR.

 

I agree with that statement ... but you are implying significantly more in your posts, (ie: that PR is important, if you have a low PR you're lazy etc) which is totally false.

Google PR and natural traffic are like rain, if it comes great but I don't count on it.

I live in southern California, USA so I don't rely on the rain to keep my lawn healthy, I have a sprinkler system. A sprinkler system is like Adwords. It costs a little money to water my 1/120th of an acre but it is reliable

So to me, Google PR is like rain and Google Adwords is like my sprinkler.
