Oh, the only thing that I don't know is the actual importance that either PR or relevance plays in the end. It's probably PR*x/100 + Relevance*y/100, x+y=100, so if x=25 and y=75, that means that Relevance is 3 times more important than PR. (Again, basicaly)
Uh-huh... Now just factor in the remaining "over 100 factors" - 2 and you can start your own search engine...
uhm, as I stated, that is a very simplistic view, and also, you don't know that PR is only 1 factor, maybe it's a part of the whole algorithm.. 30-40 factors (as I previously stated) also, I don't think Google would be so proud of their PR algorithm if it meant almost nothing, as well as specify it in so many places as part of their search algorithm.. but, we could stay all day and try to interpret Google's words, there's no way to be 100% sure about anything
We can be 100% sure that lower PR pages can and frequently do outrank higher PR pages in Google search results - that's pretty convincing evidence to me that PR is not nearly as dominant as you seem to think.
uhm, can you show me some examples? I'm pretty sure you will never find a PR0 outranking a PR6 or 7 (and if you do, you struck gold, cos that means that page is up pretty much due to on-page optimization, and we can rule out some things)
Do some of your own footwork, Gordon. Sayles showed you one example. There are plenty of others. As I said earlier, do a few random searches and I'm sure you can turn up several. And (one more time) please try to remember in all this that no one is saying PR is irrelevant.
it's no problem, also sayles showed me an example that's different after the PR updated so nothing proved
I've got tonsssssssssss of examples ... just do a random search and you'll find the same. Every search will give you some!!!
Thats petty --- reaalll petty... wha do you want me to do, shove every example in your face ... SERPs are changing every second .... of course things are going to change!
I'm getting a sample ready for you ... a totally random sample ... TO PROVE IT ONCE IN FOR ALL .... Minstrel its not worth arguing with these people they are just not getting it ... and actually .. I'm going to let them worry about PR and go off on a tangent. I'll post one last example and that'll be it for examples because anyone and their dog can do the leg work, on any subject matter, to PROVE IT to themselves if they are willing and understanding enough.
I'm not saying only PR is important, just saying PR should be given as much importance as to relevance to your keywords
Here gordonfreeman ... chew on this lovely information and tell me why all the high PR sites are not listed in the SERPS ...
The day you start determining what goes on at Google is the day your opinion counts for something. Until then you have been given an example that clearly shows the relative unimportance of PR in some cases. You saying it proves nothing simply means that you will never admit you could be incorrect. Just asking for more proof will result in you denying it when it is presented.
Its right in front of their face and they keep denying it ... thats what gets me! There's the proof in the screen captures ...
The next thing to put up is that PR is essentially a logarithmic scale. So lets say a PR4 does out rank a PR6. That means that a page that has a PR potentially 100 times more than the PR4 STILL is outranked. This gives another indication that PR is a small factor in SERPs calculations.
its pretty good actually ... I use it primarily for analysing info but you can use it to find link partners and send them emails, it builds link pages, it monitors you link partners to make sure they are still linking to you, you can find out who links to your competitors and then get links from those sites, its very nice for building links ... brad callen is a member here ... nice fellow .. very good product although I would add a few more features. Definitely worth the coin! Has lots of features!!
