I always thought this forum needed an update and a more modern look. This is a definite improvement, but it still could look so much better :)

I think he is referring to the fact that everything that seemed to be in the right place, is now no longer.

Took me almost 15 minutes to figure out where my CP was. Why the name change to settings? I realize that was done some time ago, but moving it up top left makes no sense. I realize "its different" and different or "change" can be difficult to accept, but I am not entirely convinced that's the problem. The location of various items seem to defy logic. Things have become a bit too complex as well. Things just do not flow anymore. I'd gather a great many of the newbies won't care as much. Those of us that have been around a long time will either get used to it, post less or just leave.

In my opinion the new look is much better. Usercp was always called settings and it was changed to usercp in old theme a few months back as far as I know.
All the functions available in old theme are still there. It also took me a while to realize where the usercp link is situated in new theme but I think you didn't notice the new theme is faster and many people consider it more beautiful. Old theme was too much simple.
You don't like the change because you have been using the same DP for more than 5 years. You will get used to it in a week or two and you will like it then.

Actually it was always called USER CP - it was changed to Settings a few months back.
Simpler = better.. Yahoo vs. Google as an example. Sometimes less is more!!!

I don't like the change cause its a mess. I've been here since 1998, and went from mailing list to forum, if ever there was a big change - that was. And it was a lot easier than this ;)

I honestly think the old one looked much better. Also, I suspect mine looks weird because I am still on IE6. But there are millions of people out there running IE6.

Only two things are messed up imo.. One is the header (with user info, logo, google analytics, ads makes the header wayy to cramped) and the reply button is wayy to big (cant you change it just to REPLY ??)

Also itl be great if you can create a site-wide bar like (cnet.com) where you can put all frequently used links like PM, calender, Community, Quick links etc.. Other than that new theme is fine :)

    Hi guys,

not sure if the staff/mods picked up on my last screenshot i.e. the incorrect display of post, location data on the right. This happens in IE 8 for me.

    Thanks
