Right off the bat - I have to say I don't like it. One thing I noticed, when you click on "New Posts" is that the subject column is not wide enough. Sentences are being cut off.
the overall look, theme colors etc are great,im just not a huge fan of VB4 myself really a couple points i think could actually use some improvement are the logo, and the Analytics thing was more noticable on the former 3.8.4 then it is on 4... other then that im not noticing any diffrences in performance of the board, and the thread layouts are great
This is too disturbing. One one was clear and professional. Ads were visible, content was clear. Easy to eyes. Today I stopped posting actively as I did not like this. Any way to revert?
Another thing i noticed was that post count and location don't show up for me on the right hand side of a post. It's my second day and although I'm getting a little bit used to the colors and menus, I still find the fonts and text extremely difficult to enjoy! Unfortunately I can't pinpoint what it is ..
The new look is quickly growing on me. Originally it was kind of like a "woah", i'm not one that likes change very often. I always hold to a "if it ain't broken don't fix it" philosophy most of the time. However, this upgrade does bring the forum into the 21st century. EDIT: Digitalpoint, I noticed a slight annoyance. In the old version, I could go into my profile and look at "Find posts" it would show my latest posts to the oldest posts in this order. However, now, I go into the "Find Posts by PHPGator" (or whatever it says on the left side about finding posts) and it seems to be a random order, or maybe oldest to newest. I'm seeing most posts from as old as 2007 up at the top of the list. I use this feature to find threads that I have posted on and I want to go back and view the responses to what I had posted. However, this feature no longer works this way. Is there anyway to get it to pull results in the same order as the old way (newest to oldest)?
@Sean : Yes I believe so, I'm using IE, and you can check the screenshot I've uploaded below. http://www.creative9.com/DP-Screenshot.jpg
Its not just the aesthetics that are problematic but the organization. Several things have moved. Key links, icons, etc. The skin is terribly disorganized, not modern.
I happen to like the new site. the colors aren't that great but i think the functionality is better. Guess it will take some getting used to for some, but for newbs, like myself, the change is welcomed.
Shawn, I don't see the posts and location either. Another thing is I can't see the itraders of members, it makes it more difficult to trust someone.
Dp has lost it's uniqueness over the other forums. It's to similar to many other upgraded forums. But dies it really matter? Things will now remain like this. So guys get use to it.
I like the look, but the site has slowed down alot. I also noticed the links are now nofollow? Was this changed?
