Create many pages on the blog with misspelled keywords with a link to main site (over 150-200 links per page) And got heavily reduced in serps by google in this search terms for thje main site. Blog have run sometime in top ten, than also dropped for major keywords. Now i remove all lnks and wait for indexation of blog. How long i need to wait after indexation before return to same positions in serps for this keywords?
We all didn't know how long to reindex but as long as your keywords was crawled frequently... this will lead to show again in SERP.
Thanks for sharing this. We should continue this thread and have everyone list something stupid they did that caused them to drop in the serps. My story: I erased about 15 pages of content when I discovered that the person responsible for writing the articles was plagiarizing. I dropped pretty bad in the serps...didn't recover for one month. The moral of the story for me: duplicate or somewhat duplicate content is better than no content at all (from a search engine standpoint...from a legal standpoint obviously this isn't the case)
Took me 4 weeks - somthing similar - went form 14th - 150th and then 4 weeks latter back up - now 5th !!
Do you completely remove all pages or just links? I create blog from the same account which use in google webmaster tools for main site, so i think bot can understand that this blog is affiliated with me.
yes, i had my share of stupid mistakes, while adding new pages almost 20+ of them i kept adding the sidebar menulinks also and kept adding the menulinks with keywords in it without watching out for keyword density factor, and you all know what happened, within a week of adding the webpages i started dropping from No1 for my keywords to almost 30, by which time i realised and then had to remove all those keywords from the menulinks and thanks to google it didnt waste any time in lifting me upto the No1 position, but definitely it scared me like hell
