Hello friend, First of all, thanks for reading my message... I learned from this forum about getting traffic from Stumbleupon and Trafficswarm and I applied both 1 month ago. 1. I signed up for Stumbleupon and run it from my browser, enter my site on the browser and then click on "I liked it" ... 2. I got about 1000 credits on Trafficswarm and partners clicked on my site for about 200 hits. However, when i checked on my status today, I don't see any hits from either of these when I click on Referring Sites. What did I do wrong? How do I get good traffic? Thanks for reading. Have a good day!
Even if you do get traffic from these services, it will be very poorly targeted, and you'll get very little in the way of conversions. Cryo.
For StumbleUpon, you need multiple people to "stumble" on your site. The more people who give it a thumbs up, the more people they will send to you. If you don't have a site that people intrinsically love, there are three effective ways to do this: 1) Email 10 friends and ask them to Stumble your site 2) Leverage the social networking features of stumbe upon to create links to friends. Your page will show up more often for your friends, and hopefully they will give you a thumbs up. 3) Buy $25 worth of Stumble Upon advertising. This should send 500 people to your site, and some of them should give it a thumbs up. I have found that you'll get steady traffic once your campaign ends if you can get a couple dozen thumbs ups. I know of several people who believe that Stumble Upon built their entire (large) businesses, but my personal experience is that unless you have a truly engaging site, the traffic does not convert.
While I believe that TrafficSwarm is better than most of those types of exchanges because of the fact that you can actually describe your business through Text Links, the conversion rate on any of these types of exchanges is very low. You have to remember that if you're promoting a popular affiliate site or program, you're most likely competing with hundreds of others showing the same thing.
