I really don't think you have to "prove" this. It has been done over and over by thousands of sites that don't use affiliate programs or ad networks. Just surf the web and you will see many. Jim
If you have good traffic, a good niche site, good PR and a good design for your site then you most probably will make more than some of the programs that you mentioned as you are cutting out the middleman. The thing is, what you have to think of is that with Adsense they have thousands of advertisers bidding against each other while there will only be a handful bidding against your site that you directly get which normally mean lower earnings.
I agree...What is there to prove here? Of course you can still make good money not using affiliate programs or ad networks. We do this at AdminFusion...I'd say that 85% of our advertising revenue comes from private advertisers, not networks.
I like the idea, and I also like the fact that you're making this post as it helps folks like me who only know how to monetize their sites using PPC &/or affiliate programs. I'll be following your progress very closely.
I'll be posting an update on http://sitefever.com today, but I can tell you that first day earnings on in-house ads are already just a hair over $100! MUCH better than adsense!
How much traffic does your site get? How many ads are you planning on posting? $100 a day ain't bad at all, keep up the good work.
