Hello, everybody. This is my first time to post a question here. I created a Flash app - 3D gallery. I think some of website owners will need it but i don't know where they are. For this is a new thing, I guess most of people won't search keyword "3D gallery". About price. how much will people pay for that? I hope to hear your opinon. Besides, I am considering to make a 3D website. I want to know you opinon about 3D website. Do you like 3D website? And what do you think it should be like? I'll appreciate your help. BTW, my website is www. kit3d. com
For price on stuff like this I tend to break it down like so: How much do you think you are worth per hour? How many hours did it take you to code? How many units (sales) do you plan on selling before you break even? If I was worth $50 per hour, and it took me 10 hours to code, then I'd plan on selling 20 copies at $25 each to break even, then after that it's profit =) I'd then contact web designers like myself and give a few review copies out in exchange for testimonials, then start marketing the product on here and other web designer forums and hang outs, and depending on budget you could advertise on some blogs with 125px add blocks, or organise some competitions on blogs like bittbox where you do a give away prize to generate interest. I'd also, once you've worked out price, enable online purchasing with Paypal on your own website as people tend to find it too much hassle to fill in forms etc and wait for a reply when they can have instant purchasing and download with paypal Feel free to PM me if you're struggling
I think that if your product is easy to implement onto their site and to also be able to change photos then this looks like a very good product. As for advertsing it, it would be good to leave a trademark or a link back to your site on the 3D gallery so if people like the look of it on the site they are viewing they will visit your site for more information about it. At first try and sell it at digitalpoint and give out some review copys.
I don't agree, if people are purchasing a product they should have the choice not to link back to your homepage, having 3rd party links on business pages etc looks unprofessional in my opinion and screams that they've used "freebies" If you're giving out a few review copies I'll be willing to implement this on a live site and give a lengthy review Edit: I've noticed a bug as well - you can use the scroll wheel on the mouse to zoom in and out, but there is no upper and lower limits to the zoom, so you can scroll until you're so far zoomed out you can see where the loop begins & ends, and then even futher till the whole thing flips upside down. I'd reccommend putting a limit on how far you can zoom so you don't get this problem.
Thanks for reply. This app is XML driven, so you can configurate it in a XML file. For webdesigners, what kinds of file should I release ? a component file or a swf file? And in most cases, do customers know what they want and buy the flash app directly? or webdesigners tell them?
