Hi!I am a little lost and totally saturated with keywords up to my eyeballs.I have used Google Keyword Tool and Market Samuari. I have a blog that is geared towards the auto industry. I sell cars in Canada and have a blog that I wanted to use as a means to build trust and share information so that people don't fall into the expensive pitfalls. I want to revamp it to make better use of keywords and of course to gain better placing, etcI have worked on this for the past 3 days and I am totally deflated. When I searched keywords I set it up so it was specific to Canada for both Google and Market Sam. I entered keywords that I thought would be words that people would generally use if they were looking for info on buying a car. Google turned out ok, but when I put it into Market Sam it was a different story. There was no search volume according to it, yet Google says it was a good one. What do I do???The other question I have and I seem to be getting mixed messages is if the keyword I am using is 5 words long - do I put hyphens in it or just run it together?ANY help, comments suggestions would be fantastic. I am starting to get a little deflated with this and just wanted to put it out there to see if it is me and I am missing something or what.ryderdm
What are your competitors doing? You don't have to reinvent the wheel here. Just step back for a moment, catch your breath, and do some research. Find out who is linking to your competitors. See what keywords they are focusing on. Decide exactly who you want to target. What specific problem are you trying to solve? What are the needs of your potential customers? If there is a problem and you have a solution, then you are on your way to building credibility, building your brand, and being looked at as an expert in your niche. You are not going to get the same results when using a "free" tool like the Google Keyword Tool as you would with a paid tool like Market Samurai. And if you are not logged into your Adwords account when using the Google Keyword tool, you'll get a completely different set of results. Instead, go to some forums where your target market hangs out. You need to get a handle on what their needs are. This will give you more guidance in finding the right keywords. Hope this helps...
