I think something was lost in the translation to English. BTW, this issue was limited to a very few southern states in what we call the "deep south". Many schools were segregated back then. There never was an issue of going to school safely when students attended their own school. The issue arose when blacks students wanted to attend white schools in the segregated deep south. I'm not saying it was right or wrong, but what you believe is incorrect. It had nothing to do with blacks not being allowed to go to school safely.
