I colored my Adsense ads really really close to my website, against TOS?

    i don't think you could get reported--if you edit it correctly there's no way goog could tell the difference between what they generate and what you have.

    I agree - as long as the changes you make to the code are identical to changes you could make while creating the code, there will be absolutely no difference. However, since AdSense makes it pretty easy to customize and create the code in the first place...why take the risk? ;)

    lazy ;) nah, you're right, it's probably smart to burn the 30 seconds it takes to run through the adsense site.

    The way I see it: as JavaScript is a tool that works remotely (ClientSide script - that is in a user's browser) it is 100% safe to write a PHP (or ASP, or whatever ServerSide script) code that outputs to the user a JavaScript identical to the one generated by AdSense. Writing the script in PHP is done to only output the same JavaScript hence no change of Google's code happens.

    Come on! It is silly to think that you may only use the code if you pressed Ctrl+C to get it from the AdSense page! :)

    Why use PHP for AdSense? Simply for the fact that you may need to blend AdSense colors with the content in various pages/color palettes/styles.

    Example:

    google_color_bg = "<?=$varPageBgColor?>";
    google_color_link = "<?=$varPageLinkColor?>";

    PHP:

    It's all down to colors. And as long as your server side script outputs a standard AdSense script, it's safe to use and does not break the TOS - it's not changing the AdSense script the browser displays.

    No one is arguing that the AdSense ToS is not silly.

    We all agree that it is silly.

    But is that relevant? Silly or not, this is what it says.

    Well, the TOS says "not modifying the JavaScript" which the code above doesn't. I've explained above: JavaScript is a Client Side script while Server Side scripting (PHP, ASP,..) is something totally different. You can't put them in the same bucket in this case. ;)

    EDIT: OK, I've just sent an email to AdSense support asking about this. I'll keep you guys updated :)

    Customizing your AdSense ads to match the colors of your website is an integration strategy - the theory being that they will look less like ads, and more like just another part of your content. Try it...it works. ;)

    Phew, a ton of replies.. Didn't think it would get any.

    Anway, my site is here, http://www.bootyentertainment.com

    I was actually just playing around to see if I can increase CTR... Just because some guy on a different forum starts a thread "How do i DECREASE CTR", and goes to say that he gets 80% CTR so he wants to decrease it... Yeah everybody was like WTF?

    Anyway, I was just experimenting, and there's really no way you can ever get 80% CTR, lol... Unless you send out some virus program that clicks on ads while browsing......

    Dude, whatever you are experimenting, is not the right way.

    hidden keyword stuffing is a big NO NO, in seo and it will get you in trouble.
    I advice you to read SEO threads in this forum and learn fair SEO techniques.

    This way its not gonna help you, and within no time google will ban your site.
