    Hi

On previewing one of my own sites, by error i clicked on one of my own google ads. I clicked out straight away, will google see this as an error or should I contact them to let them know? When I went to my adsense account, the registered that there was one click today but for no £, would this be it, it did not show which channel the click came through. any advice appreciated...

    Regards

You will most likely get charged for this.(Ad Words) Just don't keep doing this or your account may be stopped for fraud (Ad Sense)

I mean on one of my website , I clicked on one of the google ads by mistake, not my own adwords advert... This is the first time I have done this and assuredely was completely by error. Hopefully google will overlook 1 click from my ISP as I say I exited straight away. As yet my adsense account is showing no clicks today.....

I've done that twice, sometimes just trying to bring the window to focus, or trying to right click something... anyway, both time I have just emailed them and told them what happened, they send back a standard email like "don't click your own ads" type thing, and that's about it. I assume they should know by IP, but who knows.

Don't worry about it, one click won't cause any problem (I've done the same thing by mistake a number of times myself)...

ive done this also.. Basically browsing through my site and see an ad for something that interests me (which rarely ever happens) and i completely forget where i'm at and click it... I've probably done it twice, haven't heard anything from Google. I dont know what algorithms they use to detect click fraud (im sure no one does), but I doubt they'd ban your account from a single click...

Over the 3+ years that I have been using AdSense, I have accidentally clicked on my ads. If it is an occasional thing, I wouldn't worry about it. Besides, Google can invalidate impressions from your I.P. address.

Send an email to google immediately informing that invalid click was generated by you.

Do not worry about it. They will most likely not credit you for that click (the IP that clicked on the ad is the same IP you use to log in to your AdSense account) . Google might send you a warning email, but your account will be eliminated only when you reach a certain amount of invalid clicks.

To avoid this from happening again use a simple PHP If. Check if it is you accessing the site or if it is another person (a simple IP check) and display the ads only if it is not you.

well have not heard anything yet, i did not email them but surely one would think they are advanced enough and want enough partners for adsense to realise that people can make this error, I understand if you click your own ads 10 times per month but once or twice, hopefull not

I ve wondered, if you can't click on the link, how do you know the URL to block in competitive filters? Since the displayed link sometimes isn't the actual link.
