I am wondering if you encounter the same problem, I have verified 10 of my site at the same server but I can't verify the last one.

I have tried for the whole week now but still no success I keep getting the following error:

We couldn't find the verification meta tag. -- For tag verification
We've detected that your verification file returns a status of 404 (Not found) in the header -- For Html file verification even I enter and upload the correct file

How can we fix this kind of problem in google

Maybe it's caused by your serves, which doesn't response google's request.
Just try another site in different server.

Are you by any chance using a Javascript redirect or frames on the website by any chance. Sometimes other forms of redirects can also cause this problem. 401 is the safest bet if using a redirect on server for a domain name.

you need to do 302 redirection for the website, and than you need to check if it works than fine, other wise you need to change the server.
