I can't stop buying domains!

I just get these crazy ideas, then go register a name. I have this large backlog of sites I want to build, but at this rate I'll probably never get to them. Anybody else have this problem? :)

I used to have this problem, about 1.5 years ago.
And Im glad I did because now I have some older domains to play with :D

I suggest you STOP buying domains and work on what you have. Or alternatively, put a few pages up at each domain and let them age a bit before developing them.

Same problem here, which I hope become opportunities because I use ForumBulge's idea of creating a few pages for each domain. Some of those miniature proto-sites actually make a little money.

I hope that they are aging into respectible sites in the eyes of Google.

LMAO.. i wonder if there is a name for this illness, whatever it is....i have it.

funny thing is, all the names i think of are always available

prime example AMillionQuid, I always (for my whole life) wanted that much cash in my account, i can't believe no-one in the UK for the life of the internet ever wanted that domain... i always wanted a million quid..

now I have it. (at least in domain terms) :p

I keep remembering all those "idiots" who bought land in the path of progress and then sweated out the payments and taxes for years. With the projected growth of the internet I can't believe well selected .coms won't increase in value.

Heh, I don't have this 'illness'. Only 4 undeveloped domains :) But yeah, I agree that letting the domain age a little is a good practise, Chris Beasley made some points about it in his blog.

I do this all the time too. If your only registering decent domains though, u shouldn't have a problem selling them off on their own merits, should u have no time to develop them.

Yes, those domain names always seem like good ideas at the time...then, before you know it, it's time to reregister again and you realize you've done nothing with them. At least now there are a few options for "monetarizing" them. You can park them and get a bit of ad revenue. I put a few of mine at sedo.com at the beginning of December and it looks like I'll be able to get at least 70 USD a month - not a lot, but at least it will pay for the domain name registration and maybe give me a few extra dollars to buy new ones with...

    This Damn Serious ,

You have domain-virus that have infected internet of your mind, the souce of illness is said to be generated by an organization name ICAAN, and is been distributed sucessfully by companies like godaddy and lot many. Discrtibution channel if far and wide , even several dp members are supposed to be effected by this serious virus. Virus at times can be serious and can affect your bank balance.

Currently : No cure to this illness has been determined.

Some people are actively fighting this virus by selling domain in
the forums like this one at DP.

why not write the domain name down go back to it in a few days and see if you still think its good, if so then buy it and if not then leave it alone? this may cut down the amount your buying

Unfortunately, I have had one or two domains registered by someone else while I was thinking about it. One happened within five minutes of the time I found it.
