I cant seem to figure this out in Wordpress? Need Help...

    Am I right in saying that when you add a text widget in sidebar, you can only add 1 in each side bar? The problem is when I try this through the dashboard I can't add more than one, so how can I have multiple text widgets down the side of my wordpress.

    example is here I originally had metas there then when i added the calender it vanished.

    SO how can I add multiple widgets, as I want to facebook and twitter icons, video and ads.

    If anyone can help, let me know it is driving me mad.

    You can put as many text widgets as the template can hold, are you saving your changes?

    There is no limitation in adding text widgets and any widgets as you wish, you can have them unlimited.

    And currently i can see a calender there and a search widget.. whats up with it?

    I also wanted to add meta, achives, video etc, but every time I add a widget in dashboard (dragging it into sidebar box) I can only add one widget per sidebar? So for the example I gave, I had 2 sidebars these were replaced by the calender and the search box.

    Am I right in thinking I can add 2 or 3 widgets per sidebar - if so how? Dragging and dropping in dashboard isnt working, I am using wordpress 2.9

    Yes sometimes people do not save the what they put in they put in their side bar.Make sure you save before you close. You can add as many widgets as you need to use. Make sure you install Akismet as a spam filter.

    Sometimes poorly coded templates can cause widgets to break and only show one. Also you have to be careful you are not using </div> in your code, because if you are not careful you can break wordpress. Another reason might be because you are using images that are too wide to fit in the sidebar.

    Actually the number of reasons for this to happen are many..

    I see all fine with your text widgets? I agree with previous answers, you can have lots of text widgets you want, but also depends on the theme.
