I am not earning any money at all with affiliate marketing? I have several domain names that are targeted towards products but I struggle getting traffic to my sites? Is there a affiliate traffic strategy that I am missing or does it always just depend on the content. I see some people start a website on a brand new domain name and become very successful very fast? Im lost and I am all ears if anyone can help me with traffic and affiliates.

    Dear Christian,

Let me help you out here. I can see myself in your question. I had the very same feeling few years back when i started on to blogging. Infact, i used to wonder how people talk so much about affiliate marketing and make huge money in such short span. But the real truth is that a very few lucky people might be making but the majority of successful bloggers and webmasters "earned" it the hard way! There have been lots of sleepless nights and tonnes of hardwork that went into their successful today.

    Now coming back to facts

    - Affiliate marketing is all about trust: Some one buys something from your blog or website mostly if they feel, they trust you! So the first step would be gain trust and authority in your niche. write quality content and give unique information that would really help your visitors and provide value. Slowly start suggesting quality content that you have tried your self in your favorite niche that you are good at. Later suggest products that will benefit them and they would come back to thank you. This is when you start selling products on your website and start earning.

    - I used to think Adsense was everything and the 5 - 6 usd i earned daily was going to be my future until i discovered affiliate marketing. It has so much potential that would blow you off. The key point is in selecting the right niche that you want to develop your website on.( and not a niche that you think is doing good and will fetch you lot of sales)

    - As soon as you have your website up, if its a blog, start encouraging optins and subscribers that would prove as your biggest asset to be successful in affiliate marketing. You can directly talk to your potential buyers through emails.

Take home: : there are easy ways, but they dont last long. Input quality time and effort on developing 1 - 2 website that provide value to your visitors and bask in the glory that would grow for ever. Also be honest to your readers and love them the most!!

    Cheers and all the best
    Joshu Thomas

    Christian,

If you have been dedicated to working on your blog for the last one year, then it should be good enough time for you to start making some decent money online. Maybe you are not doing things quite right. could you please let me know your blog or website is, i could give you some suggestions. In addition few important facts that could keep you moving faster are:

    1. develop a habit of encouraging subscription and provide members with value
    2. have a good updating frequency.
    3. do keyword research and have an edge over others
    4. do not underestimate SEO and its power, work on it
    5. do a lot of research on the web and keep learning
    6. Watch whats going on around and catch the trend of how others are making money.

There are lot of affiliate networks link, CJ , clickbank, avantage etc. So basically based on your niche, try to write quality articles to prove your niche gradually and promote similar products and am sure if you have a decent traffic, you will certainly have sales as well.

    cheers
    Josh

    Hi
I'm glad I'm not the only one struggling with affiliate programs. I have also done so much research, and have not earned a penny. It's so annoying when there are people that seem to get things moving overnight. I hope someone comes up with ideas soon for you.

Ok, I have a bunch of websites up and running like cnaonlineguide.com - this is a CNA Online Certification and Guide. CNA are Nurses.
I have my own blog that is at ChristianCalvin.com where I talk about domain names and my names for sale.
I also have HotNewsmakers.com which is a breaking news website.

I had several other websites set up for affiliate income like PenisIt.com which was a male enhancement website and made a few sales but only like $100 in 6 months...the traffic wasn't coming so I parked the page.

I have several great domain names for products like TouchscreenDesktop.com. Just can't seem to get traffic to them.

There's a lot of information here about affiliate, what in my opinion is affiliate marketing can be a great and successful venture that one undertakes. It clearly has its advantages over traditional advertising and promoting schemes, but it should be known that there are many limitations too. It is a joint partnership between merchants and affiliates which runs on a commission basis. When somebody buys something on a website, the affiliate is given a commission of the profit based on per click, per lead or per sale.

From what I read in your posts your main problem is not enough amount of traffic. Just creating a nice website doesn't guarantee a success. You need to put more effort toward promotion and and traffic generation. SEO, buying and exchanging traffic, social networking, there are many possibilities to get quality targeted traffic. You have said "I see some people start a website on a brand new domain name and become very successful very fast?" You may always investigate what is doing your competition! What affiliate programs they use, from where their traffic comes from etc. The key is to practice and never give up.

I've been trying out affiliate marketing for only several months, and I'm already seeing results. Sure, I get next to no traffic still, but I had sales already. I had sales on Amazon and CJ and Zazzle. With barely any traffic at all. I think the potential is simply amazing.

Affiliate marketing doesnt happen over night.Get the basics right.Concentrate on keywords, keywords are the most important weapon. You can have the best website in the world, but if people are not searching for your optamised keyword, no one will come to your site. Dont fall for all those emails that land in your in box and promise you $100,000 in a week. Concentrate on the basics, create quality content and put in the hours. Good luck

I earn mostly 80% of my income through affiliates and what i have found out is the narrower your niche, the better you earn..so identify a niche and narrow down based on your expertize and you will not have to face much competition. do good keyword research and its power is immense.

    cheer
