This is my slap together site that may help you out. It's not anything too special but there is plenty of things in there that will teach you about advertising your site. etc. http://www.seoedu.info hit the advertising your site button. There is lots of info available there. Another thing you have to know. You can't expect a popular site overnight, or even over a month. When I begin doing webmaster and SEO stuff I couldn't get anywhere for the first three months. Also I wasn't green on the internet either. I knew enough to begin with. It takes time to learn skills to take care of a site and build it up, but it does get easier. My first site took about 5 months to get 100 visitors per day. Now I can get 300 per day on a site in the first month. You'll learn through time if you are willing to read for it.
I have to say your not the only one who cant seem to get organic traffic. My first site, EPR Bullets, ranks in the top 10 for its keyword but it is a very very niche site. There are only around 100k people worldwide who would understand it. My other site, How To Invest, is rather new but doesn't get ANY organic traffic. Well I cant say any because it does get around 10 organics a day lol... However, from posting on investment forums it tends to do fairly well. I know this isnt the forum for it but since this thread is here... Take a look at my second site and see if you think its SEO. Thanks, trixs
How long is the website online ? About SEO. You can read this forums posts and you are basically covered.
Use social bookmarking sites to submit your site . Make sure your site is interesting and you post it in the relevant category to get better results . One more advice is that do not do over promotion there as it will only get you and your site banned
SEO is Search Engine Optimization.. There arre many type of SEO.. Actually you should do a strong backlink with same niche blog or forum.
You can submit to web directories that will give you backlinks to your site, get your keywords in the anchor text when you build these backlinks, you might try blog commenting related to your niche.
