I currently have 80 websites that I want to move to another hosting company I am not getting response from the hosting company and I can NOT run backups the new company got into the WHM and the cPanel and they can not run backups either I don't know what to do any more... I am hostage of this hosting companies from hell. Thanks for your help in advance, please advise what to do
If I were in your shoes - I would ftp into all of the accounts and download everything from the public_html directories. Then use phpMyAdmin/mySQL and export your database - keep notes on mySQL usernames and password. This is a big mess but it is possible.
When you state that you cannot run backups, what exactly do you mean? The option is not there to run a full backup? Do you have ftp access to the site(s)? Are there any databases involved? Chris
With cPanel your new host can easily move your account from your old host using WHM (Web Host Manager). It sounds like his current host has it disabled though. Pretty crappy of them to do that. I would try to contact the old host and ask them why you are unable to do so. If they don't enable it for you, then you'll need to do the FTP and PHPadmin move adublin mentioned, which would suck to have to do for that many sites, but can be done.
I click on the cPanel to run full backups and nothing happened... no backups. yes i do have ftp and the site has 1 database with 1000 products and invoices on the back end of my eCommerce site.
here is the message that i receive immediately after i try to run the full backup -------------------------------------------------------- Can't locate Cpanel/CPAN/I18N/LangTags.pm in @INC (@INC contains: /usr/lib/perl5/site_perl/5.8.8/i386-linux-thread-multi /usr/lib/perl5/site_perl/5.8.7/i386-linux-thread-multi /usr/lib/perl5/site_perl/5.8.6/i386-linux-thread-multi /usr/lib/perl5/site_perl/5.8.5/i386-linux-thread-multi /usr/lib/perl5/site_perl/5.8.8 /usr/lib/perl5/site_perl/5.8.7 /usr/lib/perl5/site_perl/5.8.6 /usr/lib/perl5/site_perl/5.8.5 /usr/lib/perl5/site_perl /usr/lib/perl5/vendor_perl/5.8.8/i386-linux-thread-multi /usr/lib/perl5/vendor_perl/5.8.7/i386-linux-thread-multi /usr/lib/perl5/vendor_perl/5.8.6/i386-linux-thread-multi /usr/lib/perl5/vendor_perl/5.8.5/i386-linux-thread-multi /usr/lib/perl5/vendor_perl/5.8.8 /usr/lib/perl5/vendor_perl/5.8.7 /usr/lib/perl5/vendor_perl/5.8.6 /usr/lib/perl5/vendor_perl/5.8.5 /usr/lib/perl5/vendor_perl /usr/lib/perl5/5.8.8/i386-linux-thread-multi /usr/lib/perl5/5.8.8 .) at Cpanel/CPAN/Locale/Maketext.pm line 6. Sounds like they have some issues with dependencies on the server. Have you been able to contact them? Your only alternative would be to : 1. Download a complete site backup via FTP. 2. Dump your SQL database. The restore process may not be very nice, but, it can be done. Your new host should be able to guide you through what needs to be done.
If you are on cpanel and your new provider supports cpanel as well, they can transfer your accounts one by one through WHM.
It doesn't matter... from WHM you can copy an account without root access. You just need the account password.
So... because he can't generate a backup, you are assuming that his current host has cPanel transfers disabled?
Typically a host would try and do a cPanel transfer before trying to do a backup instead. Therefore, if the host was unable to do a backup, I would assume they had already tried a transfer and it had failed and that was why they were trying to create a backup instead. My thinking cPanel transfers were disabled wasn't because of the error output from the backup error posted previously.
Did you even read the OP? Or any of the responses? He's not looking for another host. He's asking technical questions about how to migrate his sites from his old host to his new one. Way to pad your post count. Actually, let me rephrase that.. Way to use a clever slew of keywords to direct him to your signature.
