I'm not sure why... I have articles posted and linked in forums where I am getting very positive feed back. I even included a Digg link in the forum posts where they can digg it if they like it but NOTHING. What are you all doing to get people motivated to actually Digg your links?
its simple. people who visit your site will have to have a dig account. and even they do, Digg requires users to login to Digg. its just trouble for people to do so unless you have an article that provides exceptional value to the visitors who have digg accounts
Plus, it wont be too great of traffic anyway.... try other social media sites for the backlinks.... then you can get great traffic from the search engines
You'll have to make your story hit to grab attention of your story in giggs for that your story has to be maximum voted. Good Luck
Get as many friends on digg as possible. Send shouts to them. Add anyone who diggs your article as a friend. Some will become mutual friends.
Digg isn't for the faint of heart. You either go after it in a big way, or leave it alone. Having a few friends and posting mostly your own stuff is inviting disaster when the October Google Slap comes out.
Don't waste your time with Digg. The traffic is crap you don't need that, believe me. Do SEO instead and drive traffic from the search engines - it's a lot better.
I'm not sure about Digg just yet although I am quite a newbie to it. I don't like the fact that you can't digg a PHP page which rules out quite a lot of my websites.
Unless you have a large Digg network, or a really attention grabbing post, it is hard to get many diggs out of it - but I have not spent much time there as it seems to be really poor for generating traffic.
Unless they are really avid social bookmarker, people wouldn't bookmark a website / blog not unless it really worthy to read on.
digg traffic is crap. if you make the front page, while your article is there expect 10,000+ visitors/hour - then when your story slips, it will dwindle to nothing an virtually none of that traffic will stick to your site now matter how good your site or article is. digg is ruled by a handleful of people whose submissions always make the front page, and niche groups digging one another's material. total crap if you ask me.
An interesting point, Richiedude. You raising some arguments that I never realized cause I never looked closer at Digg. Green rep on the way
I have a post that has over a 100 comments and not one Digg and only 4 Sphinns. These sites just take to much time for many people to bother with.
Vastly over rated and can get your site screwed if you try and play around with the off-digg shout groups. It seems there is a whole sort Vendetta going on at the moment hoinding certasin folk off digg. I always tell people by all means use Digg but not every time and then for only the right type of article / news angle.
