I can't "delete" the categories

Hi all,

On my blog I have few categories which I am not using anymore. They have 0 posts and I want to delete them but when deleting the categories they are not being deleted.

It just stuck there and doesn't delete categories, when I refresh the page the categories are still there.

How can I delete them? I need to delete them because in Google Webmaster Tools I am getting error message about these categories.

 

have you tried to do it via phpmyadmin?

Man, the AJAX interface to delete categories is so frigging slow and half the time they don't delete if you're doing it too fast.

 

@competent123 No, I have not tried via phpmyadmin, I don't know how it is done from there

@ssaxena07 What is the other way than Ajax interface? I am easily deleting useless tags using this AJAX interface and it is working fine, but when I come to categories they just don't get deleted.
