I cant access my own task manager

    I think my computer has so many viruses. Its like 8 years old, She is dead. Anyway i cant access my Task manager it says its been disabled by the administrator. Im the Only administrator on this computer.

    Can someone help me, she is F*****d Up.

    If you can't also access the Run window, or Registry Editor is disabled, it's most probably a virus, popular ones that do those kinds of things are from Yahoo! Messenger.

    I can access the run Window but im just a bit cautious about clicking on links in this forum. I need some written advice

    Method 1

    Click Start, Run and type this command exactly as given below: (better - Copy and paste)


    Method 2

    Download and run this REG fix and double-click it.
    Method 3
    Click Start, Run and type Regedit.exe
    Navigate to the following branch:

    HKEY_CURRENT_USER \ Software \ Microsoft \ Windows \ CurrentVersion \ Policies\ System
    In the right-pane, delete the value named DisableTaskMgr
    Close Regedit.exe
    Method 4: Using Group Policy Editor - for Windows XP Professional
    Click Start, Run, type gpedit.msc and click OK.
    Navigate to this branch:

    User Configuration / Administrative Templates / System / Ctrl+Alt+Delete Options / Remove Task Manager
    Double-click the Remove Task Manager option.
    Set the policy to Not Configured.

    I'm hoping you have some AV software installed, if not, NOD32 is a great one, or AVG Free if your not up to paying (or downloading from warez sites :p).
