I cancelled my hosting, so now what happens?

I was part of a big hosting company for a month, but decided that I don't want hosting anymore. So I went to my domain name register (namecheap) and switched the DNS servers back to the Namecheap one. I then sent in a cancellation form to my hosting company.

But now when I go to my URL, it still has my old website up there. What is going on?

Cache probably. It takes time for the DNS changes to take effect. Or that's what they usually say.

it does take time for the DNS change to take full affect which is about 24-48hours in most cases, unless its cached like qazu said...

Did you do this just now? If your domain's nameservers are with NameCheap, unless it is cache as mentioned above, it shouldn't be showing your old website. Check your NC account to see if the change really went through. Just wait 72 hours or so (at max I'd say) and it shouldn't show anymore.
