Hi everyone, I'd like to keep my name out of the who is, is there anyway to do this? I have privacy protection from a very reputable registrar but they use my full name and their address. How do I create a totally anonymous who is, or at least not show my name? Is registering a business name the only way to do this? I am not sure if totally anonymous is possible or not.
What is your registrar? Are you sure privacy protection enabled? Here is an info of privacy protection enabled domain name Admin Name:WhoisGuard Protected Admin Organization:WhoisGuard Admin Street1:8939 S. Sepulveda Blvd. #110 - Admin Street2:732 Admin Street3: Admin City:Westchester
My registrar replaces all the contact info with their information, however, they put: my name c/o registrar for everything. And they state that this is done for legal purposes. Is it illegal to hide your name?
Obviously I need to research this more comprehensively; my registrar's literature is arguing that the service they provide for me is better than other place's complete anonymity, because all the other places provide is pseudo-anonymity,haha.
That must be Dynadot. Just make a new contact name (something pseudo), put it as all contacts and your name won't appear.
Different registrars have different forms of protection. Most will prevent your address and e-mail from being shown, as that is what people are mainly looking for What hotpop showed you is an example of a privacy protected domain at namecheap.com
I have heard Yahoo! does exactly the same; hide all your private info but your name. Did you reg your domain with them?
You paid for 'Privacy Protection'? It is FREE and everything is hidden from name to phone number at our place.
cyclo394 Can you give us a clue about the registrar?Just to know for the future Yesterday i bought some domains and the whois protection is free.PM for the name of the registrat Cheers
The registrar is Dynadot. They have great customer service, but I don't know about this paying for privacy and having your name show. Anyone know of a registrar with great customer service and full privacy protection?
Why don't you try GoDaddy or Moniker? Or Netfirms that provide FREE privacy for life on .com and .net TLDs?
As far as I know, their support for web hosting sucks. But, I haven't found ANY issue with them for domain names in FOUR years now. So I would strongly suggest you give them a try.
