Oh and I have a question for you: I noticed you talked about changing your domain name to Dewitts Design. Does this mean that all the backlinks you got don't have Website Design in their anchor text? I thought that was one of the most important thing for SEO, to have the keywords you want to rank high in in the link's name.

 

Yes having your keywords in your domain name can help a quite of bit, but no we didn't lost our links we had to do a 301 redirect .

How does a 301 redirect from banned-in-Google site affect the destination site? For example, suppose that yourSite1.com is banned in Google, and you redirect traffic coming to the domain yourSite2.com. Is there going to be any negative effect on yourSite2.com?

 

His site was not banned, he had just to change his domain name.

 

Site was no banned we just did a 301 redirect due to branding, is that what your asking?

If your asking about 301 redirecting a banned site to a new domain its not going to change anything the banned site has lost its authority alls a 301 redirect does is just passes everything from an old domain to the new domain such as trust, links, and yadi, ydadi

 

So re-directing the banned site to the new domain essentially makes the new domain useless and could possibly cause it to get banned as well?

Yeah I have a banned site (in Google & MSN) with a large number of links and wanted to re-direct it to a new domain so that I don't lose the links.

How many links is to many for a new site? I got almost 100 in a week using the site listed in my signature, but I could have a lot more I just have it set up not to send me to many in 1 day because I did not want to be penalized..

 

Page Rank is not something you should be after anyways...yea maybe it sounds good to have it but that should not be your main focus, have pagerank will not pay you any money
