I bought a domain with good keywords and I thought "how is this available" (after searching a name for a couple hours and all were taking). So I bought it off godaddy.com. Well it was available because I assume it expired and no one caught on to it quick enough. So, my question is if a domain name is available on godaddy for example.. and had a few previous owners could it still be considered a expired domain? Is google usually aware of this?
I believe I got this domain and it might be blacklisted from google. Since I didn't get it from a auction or anything and its straight from godaddy it should have a chance to index still, right?

I suppose you need to check domain name status here: domaintools to make sure about this domain name status.

Certainly it's possible it was registered before... but so long as you aren't blacklisted from google, you shouldn't really care. You can easily check too.. just make a few pages, get indexed by google.. and do a site:yoursite.com and see if anything shows up

AFAIK, if you buy a domain from Godaddy's TDNAM, the domain doesn't actually drop, it just changes ownership. (Godaddy let their TDNAM members get final pick before the domain is released back into the public pool)
If a whois query from domaintools said it was available before you reged it, then it has already dropped and will be considered a newly registered domain.

If you think the domain has been blacklisted, add it to webmaster tools and send in a reconsideration request explaining that you have just purchased the domain.

    Cheers
    James
