I joined the AdSense program in January of 2004.

At the time, I had a few websites which were generating approximately 300 unique visitors and no revenue.

You think there are very few breaking 5k/month? It's private information so you're not going to get a list of names, but there are definitely many members who make over 5k/month off adsense; plenty of whom do so without any of those 3 "methods" in the original post.

Obviously, you haven't been around long enough to understand why successful people don't post web site URLs. I'll let you find out on your own.

I guess there are many factors and it seems I don't know them all but I see a lot of variations in hits and of course clicks and earnings lately.
The hits are about the same but clicks and earnings can vary as much as 50%. Has anybody else seens this??

Mike, from $200/day just a week ago to $115 yesterday for me, so yes there's a lot of variation for me. That's why I started this thread, to get ideas on how to move this Adsense business of mine forward.

Definitely! That is the pattern I see all of the time.

I'm averaging 24k page impressions per day this month and I see daily variations of about 20% with CTR and eCPM.

With fewer page impressions, the variations will be even larger.

I have been around plenty long, its just my own experience. For every one person that will tell it how it really is, you have 20 that do not. I think this tells you more that I have been around long enough then the above. Belonging to many forums over the past 8 years, I developed a think skin when it comes to people talking about their earnings. I tend to ignore theses threads but for some reason I got involved in this one :)

I know many successful people that do well on the internet and out of all of those people I can't really think of one that would want to hide his/her URL's. Unless of course you make your money off porn and you would rather not let people know that. If your worried about the competition we all know its not that easy just to start a site and compete with the profitable ones.

Oh, dude, you have no idea. If only I knew php right now, I could be making 10 times that, all of it just by "updating" one site I currently have. Which is why I'm currently learning php. :)

Wha...? What's that? You mean, someone who'll code your sites for you? How much does one of these guys go for? Say, to "update" a site?

I have coded in lots of languages. I have even coded a bit of PHP.

But coding is so painful... I'd rather pay. :)
