    Advertising (learn more)

Advertise virtually anything here, with CPM banner ads, CPM email ads and CPC contextual links. You can target relevant areas of the site and show ads based on geographical location of the user if you wish.

Starts at just $1 per CPM or $0.10 per CPC.

I bet I'll be banned from adsense!

I've been doing some offline promoting of my site here in England and my stats now show that almost all my visitors are from England AND using IE!
Chances are they're all using XP (maybe some OS X etc).
Since I've started this approach, I've had a CTR in the 20s.
Surely this will be too suspicious for google?

I contacted them and they just said "we can't tell you anything about our algorithims"........."sorry".

I suppose I'll have to get rid of some of the posters etc.

What do you think I should do and will google find this too suspicious?

I dont think they will ban you simply because your site is getting a lot of traffic from your region.

Ok, i just checked the site in your signature, and maybe you will get banned.. but not from your traffic.
you have Adsense ads on at least one page with giant pop-unders.. which is at worse against the TOS, at best extremly annoying.

I would very much doubt google will ban you for the high CTR. They can trace where the clicks are coming from, and where they are going to. They will be able to smell a true rat.

The home link has an odd-looking URL?
The "support us" one is weird because it uses URL redirecting which I get paid for.

    Where are the pop-ups?

If your CTR is 20% and is legitimate then you have no reason to worry.

Yes the support page has pop under and it is against the TOS

They will not ban you since you are having all the visitors from UK

Since it is not against adsense rules

Also you can do good promotion in forums as post some good material and many people will automatically will visit your site because if the link in si

    Thanks guys.
I'm still unsure. Anyway we'll see! I'm averaging $4-$5 a day now so we should know if things are ok in a month or so!

Also, you ARE allowed pop-ups on adsense pages.
You're NOT allowed to place adsense on a pop-up however. That's how I interpreted the terms anyway...

You may have popunders but with restrictions. Here is the text from Google Adsense Policy page.

Your site may not contain Pop-ups, pop-unders or exit windows that interfere with site navigation, obscure Google ads, change user preferences, or are for downloads. Other types of pop-ups, pop-unders, or exit windows may be allowed, provided that they do not exceed a combined total of 5 per user session.

I wouldn't worry, they will only ban you if you get too many clicks coming in from the same or similar I.P. Addresses or if you are doing anything against their rules. I just explained in an earlier thread how I was stung by Adsense, it was either competitors sitting at their computers clicking the Ads in my site all day knowing it would lead to a ban or some hackers, either way I was not allowed to plead my case, if you do get banned you will end up like me, very much on the Adsense Dark Side, I have been unable since to start up a new account!

Just be Very Careful, you only have the one chance! and hopefully you won't get idiots ruining it for you as they did for me!

    Good Luck...

when you run a regional website you are bound to get traffic from your region. Don't worry england is a vast country and the ip address will be different.
there are only two sources for a direct visitor buy mouth or by paper advertising. There will be vast variation in the ip range and you will not get into any problems.
