Read the TOS and submission guidelines for the directory prior to submitting and that should answer your question. If you don't find a TOS or guidelines then that says something about where your thinking of submitting.

In general any quality directory will reserve editorial discretion for all listings.

No. We do NOT endorse the directories. Instead of taking a part from the article you should have taken the whole article!! It IS mentioned in the article that we welcome users to make their OPINION themselves.I can speak for LinKernel more precisely than others because I run it. LinKernel IS a quality directory and yes we reject many sites and give refund. Let me know if you'd like to see my refund list so you can have a idea of what I'm saying ;)

Also, we accept everybody's suggestions to improve/ entend the list. Why do you not actually "suggest" something intead of grabbing a phrase from the article and running around with it!?

Your suggestion will be most welcome. Else, if you have a directory that you'd like for me to look at, let me know.

    Regards

Yes it probably is, and you probably do. But listing your own directory in a top 20 of very established and trustworthy directories is rather arrogant.

I would make an exceptions on this two directories: Yahoo/Business.com, any other it makes no sense to pay for a yearly inclusion.

Welcoming webmasters to make their own opinion on a list of directories is nothing arrogant. The list contains different types of directories: paid, free, old, new etc. However, all directories have something in common: Value-add! And this has been mentioned in the article itself! How many directories have you recently come across that actually does a study on other directories and make a list??

Long before we published this list, LinKernel received appreciation from other directory owners. Aside from that, we also received offers from many webmasters who wanted to buy LinKernel. Personally I wanted to make it clear that LinKernel is not for sale, I plan on making of LinKernel a powerhouse of authentic and quality internet resources in the years to come. You will still hear about LinKernel in two decades from now unlike many other directories that are being shut everyday...

Also I'd like for you to precise what you meant by "establised and trustworthy"!? ...because in the list, some directories contain many more listings than others, some are less known, some have been heavily advertised but they all have one thing in common: Quality and editorial standards and that's what the list was about :)

If you had found your directory in the list, would you ask me WHY we put it there?

    Regards

I don't pay anything for directories.. I only avail of those free directory submission sites.. I do reciprocal links though so I guess my chances of having my site accepted is bit higher than mere free submission..

If you need to build links to inner pages or may have to pay for direcory listings. Most free direcories will not allow deep links - well i'm still looking.
