If my site has co.uk and targeted customers based in the UK. Do I need to submit it to all directories which based over thr world or only UK based. Thank you in advance for reply and moderator for understanding
Submit to both. All the links you can get will help you. In directory not based on UK, they usually have a word section divided in country, this could also be revelant, or simply submit in the rigth category subject.
UK Marketing only really needs the UK directory's links, the others will add additional value, spend time on choosing them wisely make sure they are relevant to your niche if possible. :-0
yes, you have to submit your site to all directories but links from sites with co.uk tld will help you more than the others but every link will help you to get better rankings
i own a lot of directories, i have 2 seo companies from the uk submitting to my network of directories and so far they are having excelent results. i guess a link from a .uk directory domain may help a little bit more than other global ltds, but the server must also be located in the uk, infact the location of the server is even more important than the domain name, and this was told to me by a google employee. i wish u good luck .
Not necessary, if the domain is ccTLD already the server does not have to be physically in that same country. But in any case, targeting the UK market (and presume want to achieve results in google.co.uk) submitting your site to directories with *.uk ccTLD will help google to understand better which market you are targeting. And again, having the site submitted to general directories as well (but your domain is under uk ccTLD) it will help in both global (google.com) and uk (google.co.uk).
i guess u must know about google more than a google engineer, what i was telling is not my own opinion but something told to me directly from a google employee, anyway thats exactly why am not posting a lot on digitalpoint anymore, people here wont listen anyway.
Apart the fact that you have a google engineer as mentor you should re-read what I said. It is not necessary does not mean that it is not as you say or that it won't make difference if the site IS physically hosted in that country.
I have no doubt .UK will help you but it is not required to have server in same country. geo-targeting done for user not for servers.
am done with this thread, do as u like buy a .co.uk then host it in Brazil and expect very good serps.
Well, I have been hosting all my website on a US Servers since past 2 years now. And I am ranking well for many Indian traffic co.in Google extension. Does that mean, I should concentrate on getting hosting from an Indian Hosting provider and give no weightage to the advantage I am getting from my .in extension? If you get a backlink from .co.uk or .uk domain name. Its worth it, there is no question on that. Do you think Google will give more weightage to a server? Its all about a person's choice for hosting which on this World Wide Web got many options. A CMS can be installed on any hosting, it doesnt really matter which country the server.
the point is that the Location of the server is Definitely a seo factor, there are hundred of seo factors and if u are doing everything else right, u still can achieve very good rankings like u are saying no matter where is ur server located. now can u achieve good rankings no matter where the server is located ? definitely YES, but when the competition is very hard, then every factor count. i dont think, i know that. even the CITY where the server is located count when u are targetting a specific population, for example for "New york real estate" a server located in newyork will definitely help. i had the chance to talk to someone directly related to google, but you can always visit webhosting talk forum to see Professional SEO companies always asking for servers located in a particular city/area for their clients when they are targeting a specific population..
