On our site we have live chat and by using this we can see a person come visit regularly and go through our site page by page. He has been doing this for two months now for about 2 hours a day.

    His ISP is

    spider-dtc-tb103.proxy.aol Reston Virginia

And then it will change to this for a couple days:

    cache-mtc-ac05.proxy.aol Reston Virginia

What are peoples opinion on this??? Is he scraping content? Is this a person or a program?

we are watching copyscape very closely to see if our content appears someplace.

How do you use a live chat to monitor your visitors?

I have found the answer to my question. Had to do some digging on the net as this is a new trend that is starting to happen with host providers.

spider-dtc-tb103.proxy.aol - it is an AOL crawler.
cache-mtc-ac05.proxy.aol - it is an AOL cache where they store your pages.

We have forums and we see Google sitting in our forums every day :)

Thanks Steve, We have live stat tracker and we watch people move around our site. This is the first time we have ever seen this as Google does it hiddenly but AOL looks likes a visitor or a scraper program. It can even look at old searches a person has done on a search query of the site.

Very surprised there isn't more info on this AOL proxy in forums.
