I am trying to add Google analytics tracking to our subdomain(WordPress blog). I am trying to set up the tracking in a way that main information would be shared with the main domain and subdomain from the same account. I was using the following manual to set it up http://www.ericmobley.net/guide-to-tracking-multiple-subdomains-in-google-analytics/ One of the steps is to add a profile for each subdomain under the account. I was not able to find anywhere in my analytics account where to add such a profile. I have in my account tracking for two separate domains and I would like to add the subdomain tracking only for one of the domains maybe this is causing the problem. Any help on the issue would be appreciated.
I found the solution to the previous issue. However I’m not sure if I created a profiles and filters correctly. (I am attaching an image to this forum post in order to make it easier for you to understand my question) Before I started the process I had a folder which had in it one value that had all the tracking for the main domain(if you look in the photo the value is marked in red) I added 2 filters and profiles one for the blog the other for only the main domain(powered by Volusion) I connected the wordpress blog to the tracking analytics. However I did not change yet the tracking on our main domain. My questions are: 1. Did I set it up correctly? 2. Since I changed the Google analytics code because I am tracking also subdomains now, what’s going to happen to old historical data had up to now once I installed the new track information, would it start all over? 3. Is the property circled in red going to have information for both the main domain and subdomain. Thank you for your help
